Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Machado Santianes started the match with the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 14th minute, Machado Santianes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente del Río fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yin Cheng Han having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yin Cheng Han saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Independiente del Río getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Machado Santianes hit a great ball. Yin Cheng Han took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Sarratea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yin Cheng Han having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yin Cheng Han breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Yin Cheng Han made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 51st minute. After 52 minutes Independiente del Río's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. Yin Cheng Han took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Rogelio Sarratea took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Yin Cheng Han skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yin Cheng Han prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 81st minute, Emanuel Sueiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th match minute, Independiente del Río was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jakub Wejta to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
