After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Jean-Pierre Pogba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Jean-Pierre Pogba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aziz Akarsu in the 11th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramon Rius in the 13th minute. Deportivo Mukenio's Jean-Pierre Pogba got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aziz Akarsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Aziz Akarsu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Aziz Akarsu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Ramon Rius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Mukenio's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramon Rius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ismael Gimenez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aziz Akarsu in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Ola Moland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Mukenio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colombia the free kick. Deportivo Mukenio's Mario Hever shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 39th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pedro Manzanares but with some difficulty. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Aurre, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Kevin Mastache notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Deportivo Mukenio's Ismael Gimenez. Ismael Gimenez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Deportivo Mukenio players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Colombia were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aziz Akarsu to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Ramon Rius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aziz Akarsu in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mukenio's Ramon Rius sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Abram Secada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Ismael Gimenez made a huge save. With a little luck, Deportivo Mukenio's Ismael Gimenez got control of the ball when Abram Secada tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Ubriaco during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 90 played minutes Deportivo Mukenio got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Ubriaco. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Mukenio's Mario Hever got a free kick in the 92nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Ignacio Mastache got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Deportivo Mukenio players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
