Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valer Văidianu went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Valer Văidianu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Timoteo Manilan came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timoteo Manilan in the 8th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a De tulpen SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Valer Văidianu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Valer Văidianu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 16 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Timoteo Manilan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Timoteo Manilan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. De tulpen SC's Harm van Zomeren got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hans Buskes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Valer Văidianu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 3-0. Harm van Zomeren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Valer Văidianu put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Valer Văidianu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Harm van Zomeren succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 38th playminute. In the 41stth minute of the game Valer Văidianu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harm van Zomeren in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 44th minute of play forced De tulpen SC's goalkeeper Yu Ang Chuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes De tulpen SC got a freekick which was hit by Maikel Douwes. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Valer Văidianu put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Valer Văidianu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Alexander Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Carballo. In the 57th minute of the match Hans Buskes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Văidianu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Văidianu in the 60th minute of the match. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Lautaro Puig off the ground. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Godofredo Leyton made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timoteo Manilan in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Godofredo Leyton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Godofredo Leyton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0. In the 76th minute of the game Eliseo Noboa made a throw-in which Abel Carballo played forward. In the 78th minute Godofredo Leyton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
