Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Tomas Illescas made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 7th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Resistencia Tayrona FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Taurino Hernaiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 15 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. In the 17th minute, Taurino Hernaiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Stanislav Dvorskiy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zernin Losa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Taurino Hernaiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Taurino Hernaiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Stanislav Dvorskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 27th minute of play. After 28 minutes Resistencia Tayrona FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Taurino Hernaiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Taurino Hernaiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislav Dvorskiy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Taurino Hernaiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Resistencia Tayrona FC's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanislav Dvorskiy came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas scored 1-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stanislav Dvorskiy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Taurino Hernaiz to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stanislav Dvorskiy. That made the score 1-2 after 56 minutes of play. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Chale Galanes was substituted for Zernin Losa. 63 minutes into the game, Taurino Hernaiz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Resistencia Tayrona FC made a substitution. Egun Zaballos replaced Taurino Hernaiz. Chale Galanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanislav Dvorskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stanislav Dvorskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Correa in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of Resistencia Tayrona FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Egun Zaballos notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
