Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute, Kaapo Mastropiero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Ildefonso Richie sent off a good shot on target. Patricio Costa was shown his second yellow card after 8 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 9th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute of the match, Kaapo Mastropiero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Kaapo Mastropiero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. The nice shot from Ildefonso Richie in the 13thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jonathan Ferrant had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 15th minute of the match Temperley got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nereo Medero ran over to the corner to take the kick. Angga Pambudi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Pedro Eudoxio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaapo Mastropiero's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute of play forced Temperley's goalkeeper Pedro Eudoxio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Eudoxio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Temperley booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ildefonso Richie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Angga Pambudi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaapo Mastropiero, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ildefonso Richie in the 73rd minute of the match. 80 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Eudoxio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After having played for 84 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Salvador Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Temperley's Gualterio Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Temperley were the better team. Temperley's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
