With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Donato Garaona tried to sneak it across the goal line. Terje Sundberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sirius Dog's Jeronimo Millan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sirius Dog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbano Lapurdi didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gervasio Chano to make the kick off. Cristian Sancho in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jeronimo Millan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervasio Chano, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 68th minute Gervasio Chano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Terje Sundberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Garaona in the 84th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Sirius Dog's goalkeeper Jeronimo Millan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Chano in the 94th minute of play. The Sirius Dog players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
