After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Inocencio Frichoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punta Alvear's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Frichoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Camilo Covarrubias hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute Inocencio Frichoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Inocencio Frichoso to strike the kick off in the second half. Punta Alvear's Venancio Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 84th minute of play. Punta Alvear's Venancio Oto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Punta Alvear from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute Ermegildo Heriberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Punta Alvear were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uruguay for a fine match.
