In the 27th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 庞骏战 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Felix Montenegro put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of 庞骏战. 庞骏战 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. Boris Miels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when 杜光钢 sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 杜光钢 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. When Boris Miels fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ☆战国☆ 增城秃鸡联's protests and gave Boris Miels a yellow card for diving instead. Boris Miels hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 杜光钢 in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Miels in the 65th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Rui Bing kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot.
