Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rogelio Aimar kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes in the game, Rogelio Aimar fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Rogelio Aimar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Roja Directa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The Roja Directa fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Roja Directa's Rogelio Aimar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 12 minutes, Arturo Loramendi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roja Directa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Loramendi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Gregorio Lico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roja Directa's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregorio Lico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Roja Directa booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Rogelio Aimar took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. Arturo Loramendi struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roja Directa. Rogelio Aimar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 39th minute, Gregorio Lico ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 42ndth minute of the game Gregorio Lico who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The attack was good, but when Gregorio Lico in the 42nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Rogelio Aimar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After 52 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. In the 53rd minute, Rogelio Aimar made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Slavomil Hosnedl took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Rogelio Aimar took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. 68 minutes into the match, Arturo Loramendi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Loramendi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Roja Directa's Silvano Cutberto was substituted for Rogelio Aimar. Gregorio Lico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 74 minutes into the game, Gregorio Lico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 78th match minute, Roja Directa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Amaya to maneuver through the defense. If Slavomil Hosnedl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Roja Directa's Silvano Cutberto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Gregorio Lico took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Cutberto in the 92nd minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Cutberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Gregorio Lico took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 12-0. When the referee ended the match the Roja Directa players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
