Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 3rd minute of play forced Palmeira's goalkeeper Ediberto Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediberto Rossi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Adhemar Sá sent off a good shot on target. Ediberto Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palmeira's Ediberto Rossi. Ediberto Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arlindo Messias in the 12th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adhemar Sá. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeira's Adhemar Sá. But to his dismay, Adhemar Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ediberto Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 26th minute of the match. Marquinhos Gaspar hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Ediberto Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Ediberto Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo Messias came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mário Saldanha in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute Frederico Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frederico Negri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Mário Saldanha made the kick off in the second half. Marquinhos Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palmeira's Ediberto Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Palmeira's Ediberto Rossi managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 61st minute, Lautaro Mancebo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ediberto Rossi. The goal made the score 1-2. 66 minutes into the game, one of Palmeira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 67 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ediberto Rossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Palmeira's Leo Carbol was substituted for Dorian de Souza. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ediberto Rossi firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ediberto Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Luca Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ediberto Rossi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Despite this Ediberto Rossi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeira's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ediberto Rossi came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ediberto Rossi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Palmeira's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Alberto Tafalla scored to the left of an out of position Ediberto Rossi, making the score, 1-5. The supporters of Mexico booed when Palmeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alain Aznar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederico Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
