In the 8th minute, Bucare EFD's Jacques Huysmans ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Eladio Ruidiaz scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 2-0. Romulo Demesio hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Jacques Huysmans notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bucare EFD's Ramon Wright played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bucare EFD's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The Bucare EFD fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Bucare EFD's Ximenes Castilla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the game, Bucare EFD's Eladio Ruidiaz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Carlsson in the 56th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Carlsson in the 58th minute of the match. A collision led to Bucare EFD getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Eladio Ruidiaz hit a great ball. Bucare EFD made a substitution. Natã Kut replaced Eladio Ruidiaz. When Erik Carlsson came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Bucare EFD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Carlsson couldn't finish the play. Jacques Huysmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute Natã Kut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bucare EFD's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
