Rolando Noboa had in the 23rdth minute some difficulties stopping Mats Liljeström's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 28 minutes into the match, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Silvano Portillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Humberto Cordera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saturnino Romo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Romo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Moises Gayoso. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerzy Marchefka in the 72nd minute of play. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
