Axel Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Desiderio Montel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Desiderio Montel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Village Saint Charles FRC's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Desiderio Montel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Village Saint Charles FRC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Desiderio Montel having to make a save. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. Desiderio Montel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 56th minute of the match. Bernt Blomqvist made in the 58th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Michael Corleone immediately put the ball in play. The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Abram Sarmiento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Desiderio Montel. That made the score 2-1 after 63 minutes of play. Desiderio Montel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Sarmiento succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 65th playminute. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. 70 minutes into the match, Village Saint Charles FRC's goalkeeper Desiderio Montel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abram Secada. In the 88th minute of the match, Abram Secada got a very nice opportunity to score, but Desiderio Montel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Village Saint Charles FRC's Bernardino Telo was substituted for Hector Herensuge. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Village Saint Charles FRC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kevin Mastache was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. Colombia's Kevin Mastache was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Desiderio Montel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Ignacio Mastache took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Desiderio Montel to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Colombia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
