Isidro Boni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Gombal Mateu charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gombal Mateu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, RESISTIR SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gombal Mateu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Izel Guill in the 21st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Amílton Pitta fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RESISTIR SC's protests and gave Amílton Pitta a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian Sancho scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isidro Boni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. RESISTIR SC's Izel Guill got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Sayvion Esoin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game.
