Leão de Judá's Charlie Hennenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 20th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Leão de Judá's Severino Azevedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-1 after 24 minutes of play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Severino Azevedo came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Ferrant could save by the left post. With an all-out effort, Leão de Judá's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Caetano De Bruyne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Venezuela were furious when Guillermo Mariano was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 41 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 43 minutes, Leão de Judá's Cristóvão Bezerra got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Joshua Secada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Hennenberg having to interfere. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when João Carlos Soeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 82nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Salvador Gisbert was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 92nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Caetano De Bruyne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leão de Judá's supporters rose to their feet, but Caetano De Bruyne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leão de Judá walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
