Bernardo Inautzi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Emiliano Abreu came free with the goalkeeper in the 7th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lautaro Navarro could save by the left post. Sebastian Villa scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Inautzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardo Inautzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute Honduras were awarded a corner. Edmundo Espiga went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Honduras's Edmundo Espiga to fire away a dangerous shot which Bernardo Inautzi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Tipi in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernardo Inautzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Esteban Carvallo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Consejo del Mate the free kick. In the 26th minute, one of Honduras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Honduras. After a rather tough play, Consejo del Mate's Elpidio Tipi got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo Inautzi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Teodoro Criston made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Emiliano Abreu however managed to control. After 38 minutes, Edmundo Espiga made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Consejo del Mate's Bernardo Inautzi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Teodoro Criston made in the 45th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Emiliano Abreu immediately put the ball in play. Emiliano Abreu got a throw-in 47 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Elpidio Tipi. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernardo Inautzi made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th minute of the game Teodoro Criston made a throw-in which Emiliano Abreu played forward. Teodoro Criston made in the 57th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Miguel Frechoso immediately put the ball in play. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Inautzi having to interfere. In the 65th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Inautzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Tipi in the 66th minute of play. In the 68thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Consejo del Mate's Bernardo Inautzi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Consejo del Mate's goalie prevented a goal. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Consejo del Mate's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Honduras's corner Edmundo Espiga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bernardo Inautzi quite easily take care of the ball. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Tipi's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. When Luca Espinar fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Luca Espinar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espigas short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Bernardo Inautzi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bernardo Inautzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 79th minute of play. After 80 minutes Consejo del Mate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edmundo Espiga who took care of the corner kick. After 80 played minutes Consejo del Mate got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Abreu. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Inautzi having to interfere. The supporters of Consejo del Mate booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodoro Criston took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Criston made in the 96th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Miguel Frechoso. When the match clock showed 98 minutes, the score became 1-6 when Edmundo Espiga sped through Consejo del Mate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Inautzi. The Consejo del Mate fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
