Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Hıdır Namal sent off a good shot on target. 12 minutes into the match, Loco De Remate's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Walmir Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walmir Catarinense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Rene Aires took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. Walmir Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Loco De Remate's goalkeeper Walmir Catarinense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Walmir Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Walmir Catarinense. Loco De Remate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Loco De Remate made a substitution. Feliciano Iratxo replaced Bruno Medero. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rene Aires to make the kick off. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmir Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute of the match Loco De Remate got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amado Nisio ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Gayoso in the 61st minute of play forced Loco De Remate's goalkeeper Walmir Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Loco De Remate's Walmir Catarinense got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Loco De Remate's Walmir Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 68th minute of play. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmir Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rene Aires might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rene Aires ran back to his position shaking his head. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Aires in the 84th minute of play. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Loco De Remate made a substitution. Clodoveo Christobal replaced Rene Aires. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Rafael Gallo took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Walmir Catarinense. Walmir Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clodoveo Christobal, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Walmir Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 97th minute of play. After 97 minutes of play, Peru's Rafael Gallo made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walmir Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Peru players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
