Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Costin Duca sent off a good shot on target. Pablo Martinez came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Duca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Duca in the 16th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Ruperto Maria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Maria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Salmuera CP's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Costin Duca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ruperto Maria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Pablo Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salmuera CP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pablo Martinez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ruperto Maria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ruperto Maria came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 67th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Ruperto Maria in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torcuato Herrero, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruperto Maria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 81st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Salmuera CP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 84 minutes of play, Salmuera CP's Hồ Kyhn made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Martinez in the 87th minute of play. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Ruperto Maria made a huge save. In the 91stth minute of the game Pablo Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 94 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Torcuato Herrero who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Torcuato Herrero got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
