With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Bryan Ramachandran tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Bryan Ramachandran came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ali Artuner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Bryan Ramachandran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Azam Chew was the one to do the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afiq Nair in the 51st minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Manchester United's Azam Chew nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 59 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. The audience was convinced that Azam Chew's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 79th minute Azam Chew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Ramachandran in the 81st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
