Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rômulo Negri kicked off to start the match. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto da Rocha having to interfere. Fausto da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 9th minute of play. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Mexico's Macos Graciani was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fausto da Rocha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 18 minutes into the match, AFC - Curitiba's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Fausto da Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Luca Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto da Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto da Rocha having to interfere. Fausto da Rocha came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The throw-in from Leonardo Leoz in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by AFC - Curitiba's Matouš Carda. 40 minutes into the game, Wanderson Oliveira threw the ball into play from the sideline. Mexico's Leonardo Leoz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Rômulo Negri might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dante Lacasa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rômulo Negri ran back to his position shaking his head. Rômulo Negri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. The AFC - Curitiba players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-2.

The supporters of Mexico booed when AFC - Curitiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseba Roa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Mexico booed when AFC - Curitiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Rômulo Negri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Rômulo Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fausto da Rocha made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fausto da Rocha. The goal made the score 0-3. AFC - Curitiba's Fausto da Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save AFC - Curitiba from getting a goal against them. If Rômulo Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 88th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Fausto da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 90th minute. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that AFC - Curitiba's Fausto da Rocha managed to reach the ball for a save. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
