Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, AFC Richmond's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Emerson Whaley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emerson Whaley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emerson Whaley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Emerson Whaley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Emerson Whaley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Richmond's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Whaley came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Brochu got free with Julio Vera in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence Hopson in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lawrence Hopson in the 29th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Brochu in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Richmond's goalkeeper Emerson Whaley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 35 minutes, David Brochu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Richmond's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Brochu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 36th minute of play forced AFC Richmond's goalkeeper Emerson Whaley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the AFC Richmond defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emerson Whaley. The AFC Richmond fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emerson Whaley should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lawrence Hopson in the 39th minute. Daniel Zorita scored 0-3 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emerson Whaley, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ali Can fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lawrence Hopson to make the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. AFC Richmond's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Emerson Whaley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Emerson Whaley came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emerson Whaley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. After 65 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. After having played for 66 minutes, Filip Mladenovič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Richmond's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filip Mladenovič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emerson Whaley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Lawrence Hopson came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Irmantas Zenkevičius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Richmond's goalkeeper Emerson Whaley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after AFC Richmond's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Emerson Whaley despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emerson Whaley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AFC Richmond made a substitution. Erin Valencia replaced Ali Can. With a little luck, AFC Richmond's Emerson Whaley got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Emerson Whaley to make any attempt to save it. In the 90th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Whaley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, AFC Richmond's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Emerson Whaley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Irmantas Zenkevičius made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5.
