Bruno Capello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th of the match, Bruno Capello tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Rolando Noboa got in the way and made a wonderful save. 47 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agustín Rossi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruno Capello to strike the kick off in the second half. Agustín Rossi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Neto threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Efraim Gilabert quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Moises Gayoso's late challenge caught a Los Trip's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moises Gayoso helped the player get up and apologised. Moises Gayoso hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Los Trip's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
