Maximino Pudes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Ivan Trindade made a huge save. In the 50th minute Mercedes were awarded a corner. Conrado Valiente went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mercedes's Conrado Valiente to fire away a dangerous shot which Ivan Trindade despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Maximino Pudes made the kick off in the second half. Ivan Trindade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Pudes, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 68 minutes into the game, Maximino Pudes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Esquadrão Lusitano may have spent more time on the ball, but Mercedes were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
