After a rather tough play, HEJA ESLÖV's Per Ljungberg got a free kick in the 7th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Noel Trapani threw the ball into play from the sideline. HEJA ESLÖV's Jan-Olof Palm quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 14th minute Oliver Friggieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Grubb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th match minute, HEJA ESLÖV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Ljungberg to maneuver through the defense. Nick Grech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Algot Abrahamsson in the 18th minute of play. If Leonard Lustig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. HEJA ESLÖV's Gabriel Grubb proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save HEJA ESLÖV from getting a goal against them. Gabriel Grubb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manwel Dimech in the 23rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Templars FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of HEJA ESLÖV:s goal. HEJA ESLÖV's Gabriel Grubb proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save HEJA ESLÖV from getting a goal against them. Nick Grech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Lustig in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Mark Cuschieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Kevin Muscat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Grubb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keith DeGaetano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Gabriel Grubb skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kevin Muscat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Gabriel Grubb made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Cuschieri in the 47th minute of play forced HEJA ESLÖV's goalkeeper Gabriel Grubb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, HEJA ESLÖV's Valter Pedersson got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kevin Muscat to make the kick off. Mark Cuschieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Gabriel Grubb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, HEJA ESLÖV's goal looked a bit too open when Keith DeGaetano came free, but Gabriel Grubb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sverker Persson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Grubb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Friggieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oliver Friggieri kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Nick Grech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Lustig, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Templars FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Björn Wallgren was slow to take the kick. During this time HEJA ESLÖV's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Björn Wallgren got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nick Grech quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Valter Pedersson hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Mark Cuschieri made in the 83rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Noel Trapani. In the 90thth minute of the game Oliver Friggieri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but HEJA ESLÖV's Gabriel Grubb was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gabriel Grubb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Muscat in the 94th minute of the match. Gabriel Grubb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Friggieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Leonard Lustig's late challenge caught a Templars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Lustig helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, HEJA ESLÖV's Leonard Lustig got a free kick in the 96th minute. In the 97th minute Kevin Muscat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Grubb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The HEJA ESLÖV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing HEJA ESLÖV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
