In the 7th match minute, Fervent Stalkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleuterio Donostia to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Franco Navarro notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 15 minutes into the match, Fervent Stalkers's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Augusto Gaskon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Augusto Gaskon. Fervent Stalkers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Navarro in the 19th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augusto Gaskon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. Eleuterio Donostia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franco Navarro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Gaskon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Gaskon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, Fervent Stalkers's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Augusto Gaskon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Augusto Gaskon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 44th minute of the match. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Franco Navarro made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Gaskon having to interfere. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Franco Navarro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Franco Navarro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fervent Stalkers's Leandro Cutberto was substituted for Franco Navarro. In the 83rd minute, Felix Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Augusto Gaskon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Cutberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Gaskon having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Cutberto in the 91st minute of the match. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
