Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ingmar Bergman made the kick off which started today's match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianluigi Donnarumma saved PERSPOLIS from getting behind. In the 16th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Ganix got free with Julio Vera in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluigi Donnarumma having to interfere. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluigi Donnarumma having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingmar Bergman in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cordarell Guasch hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gianluigi Donnarumma narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ingmar Bergman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Ganix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Gianluigi Donnarumma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Axel Uplegger kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. When PERSPOLIS's Ingmar Bergman in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Gianluigi Donnarumma was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 63 minute of play. Gianluigi Donnarumma made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. PERSPOLIS's Gianluigi Donnarumma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save PERSPOLIS from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingmar Bergman in the 73rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of PERSPOLIS's Gianluigi Donnarumma. Gianluigi Donnarumma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Felix Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gianluigi Donnarumma. That made the score 0-3 in the 81 minute of play. PERSPOLIS's Pedro León was substituted for Bela Herrero. PERSPOLIS's Constantino Salgado managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Primitivo Andino in the 92 minute of the game.
