The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Qu Feng Bin. Atlético São Sebastião's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 5th minute, Godofredo Cebo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético São Sebastião fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Qu Feng Bin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Balthazar Steenberghs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela:s Jonathan Ferrant showed great skill when he stopped Godofredo Cebo:s penalty. In the 19th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Celestino Arnalt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th match minute, Atlético São Sebastião was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celestino Arnalt to maneuver through the defense. Qu Feng Bin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patricio Costa went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Joshua Secada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Atlético São Sebastião booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godofredo Cebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Godofredo Cebo in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Atlético São Sebastião got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Donati. In the 66th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Qu Feng Bin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 69th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Secada to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godofredo Cebo in the 81st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Roberto Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético São Sebastião's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 90 minutes of play, Atlético São Sebastião's Pan Zhen Fan made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pan Zhen Fan in the 95th minute of play.
