Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teppo Kallioniemi in the 51st minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 95 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Paavali Paatelainen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Galand FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
