Uberlandia-DMZ's João Adolfo Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 7th minute of play. João Adolfo Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moises Fernandino scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Adolfo Lira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Abram Luque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. João Adolfo Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Dinei de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes got a free kick in the 31st minute. João Adolfo Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Magrina in the 35th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. After 37 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Valentino Ferrant. Luis Rubio hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Fernandino made a kick off. João Adolfo Lira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 56th minute. Abram Luque who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of João Adolfo Lira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 66th minute, Jorge Magrina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Uberlandia-DMZ's João Adolfo Lira got control of the ball when Jorge Magrina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emanuel Neves's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Neves helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Uberlandia-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Adolfo Lira made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Moises Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. 93 minutes into the match, Uberlandia-DMZ's goalkeeper João Adolfo Lira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Fernandino. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Salvador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
