Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Luis Andino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Suárez Yasin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Amado Savier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amado Savier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Espinillo's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Suárez Yasin came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ezequiel Onbera in the 14th minute. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Placido Patxi put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Suárez Yasin saved Espinillo from getting behind. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Placido Patxi in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 34th minute of play forced Espinillo's goalkeeper Suárez Yasin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amado Savier in the 36th minute. Julio Vera had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping Ezequiel Onbera's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
The wind increased when Placido Patxi made the kick off in the second half. Ezequiel Onbera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Suárez Yasin made a huge save.
