Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Panama's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geraldo Miranda was slow to take the kick. During this time Tio Patinhas's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Tio Patinhas's Josué Oliveira to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcos Cotilla despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. In the 29th play minute Geraldo Miranda came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcos Cotilla. 3-0. In the 36th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nildo Braga saved Tio Patinhas from getting behind. 47 minutes into the game, Panama's Abraham Alguacil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nildo Braga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Paulo Renato Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Paulo Renato Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panama's Abraham Alguacil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nildo Braga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 72 minutes into the match, Geraldo Miranda notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nildo Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ian Barral's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Miranda in the 95th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luisinho Alagoano went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Ian Barral hit a great freekick 100 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Panama players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tio Patinhas.
