In the 10th match minute, Birra Bizarra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marciano Aeta to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Birra Bizarra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Poncio Zalaeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lohitzun Reigosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of the match. After 18 minutes, Romeo Piñeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Birra Bizarra and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Birra Bizarra's Romeo Piñeiros got a free kick in the 18th minute. Lohitzun Reigosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lohitzun Reigosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Birra Bizarra's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Lohitzun Reigosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Lohitzun Reigosa. Birra Bizarra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 32nd minute, Birra Bizarra's Poncio Zalaeta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Birra Bizarra's Erlantz Gainzarain fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Erlantz Gainzarain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the match, Birra Bizarra's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Lohitzun Reigosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Lohitzun Reigosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erlantz Gainzarain to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Birra Bizarra's Erlantz Gainzarain sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Beltza Feyjo was slow to take the kick. During this time Birra Bizarra's players had a chance to rest. Birra Bizarra's Beltza Feyjo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Poncio Zalaeta in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Erlantz Gainzarain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 62 played minutes, Birra Bizarra's Beltza Feyjo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Birra Bizarra reached it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erlantz Gainzarain in the 66th minute of play. Daniel Zorita in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lohitzun Reigosa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 72 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lohitzun Reigosa, 2-2. In the 92nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense.
