In the 11th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mieszko Bierfass saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The long shot by Generoso Sandaili in the 16th minute really tested Joaquin Gayoso's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Francisco Seco sped through san isidro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mieszko Bierfass. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 24th minute of play forced san isidro's goalkeeper Mieszko Bierfass to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Ariel Goyo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. In the 40th minute, Generoso Sandaili sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move. Mieszko Bierfass made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 44th minute of play. Mieszko Bierfass came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Escribano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Ariel Goyo kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ariel Goyo to make the kick off. The supporters of Uruguay booed when san isidro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Chorache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mieszko Bierfass didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 63 minutes into the match, san isidro's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Gisbert came free, but Mieszko Bierfass reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gösta Kihlberg charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 83rd minute, Álvaro Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the game, Elvio Chorache was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. san isidro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 86th minute, when Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Mieszko Bierfass in san isidro's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Jorge Sainz kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Mieszko Bierfass skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
