Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zarco Figueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Zarco Figueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 15thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peñaloza's Zarco Figueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zarco Figueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zarco Figueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zarco Figueira quite easily take care of the ball. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Ecuador's Luis Andino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 29 minutes into the match, Peñaloza's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Zarco Figueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zarco Figueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Blasi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Eduardo Castro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 40th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zarco Figueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Agustín Saelices heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zarco Figueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play. After 62 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. 63 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Oihan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Simon Oihan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Zarco Figueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute. Zarco Figueira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 80 minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Felix Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peñaloza the free kick. After 89 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Zarco Figueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Eduardo Castro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
