When Rodrigo Prestes came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Warriors Máfia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Prestes couldn't finish the play. Mario Alberto Kempes scored 2-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Durval da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Warriors Máfia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Jose Correa advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-1 in the 27th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseu Soeiro during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Warriors Máfia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Warriors Máfia's Egídio Linhares. But to his dismay, Egídio Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Warriors Máfia made a substitution. Antônio Carlos Moura replaced Válbson Mendes. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Warriors Máfia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Alberto Kempes might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mario Alberto Kempes ran back to his position shaking his head. Mario Alberto Kempes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Warriors Máfia the free kick. Cezary Matela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Durval da Costa in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Doriva Alves scored 5-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Warriors Máfia fully deserved thier win.
