Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Fred Kirkpatrick made the kick off and thus started the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Fred Kirkpatrick sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rhys Dimmock. Rhys Dimmock dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play. After 19 minutes Zamalek FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 24th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Kirkpatrick in the 28th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Kirkpatrick in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Davis Duff hit a great ball. 52 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Davis Duff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Fred Kirkpatrick struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zamalek FC. Rhys Dimmock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the match, Sergey Krasinskiy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergey Krasinskiy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 91st minute Mugurel Balaeț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rhys Dimmock was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
