Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Vaz having to interfere. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when 任浩默 tried to sneak it across the goal line. Silvério Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portuguesa. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Vaz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, 任浩默 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and 任浩默 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Zachrisson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Portuguesa's Holger Zachrisson fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, 任浩默 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and 任浩默 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Macedo. In the 47th minute of the match Portuguesa got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 任浩默 ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in 任浩默 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save.

If Silvério Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 played minutes Portuguesa got a freekick which was hit by Holger Zachrisson. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 任浩默 took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Edgard Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Edgard Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, 任浩默 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Jorginho Vaz in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Macedo in the 67th minute of play. Portuguesa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by 任浩默 in the 69th minute. The corner led Portuguesa's 任浩默 to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Vaz having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Holger Zachrisson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Portuguesa's Décio Lago was substituted for André Luís Cardozo. In the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Vaz having to interfere. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Jorginho Vaz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Portuguesa had played much better football throughout.
