Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Iza having to interfere. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roman Iza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Roman Iza quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play forced Rio Gallegos Unidos's goalkeeper Roman Iza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roman Iza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Iza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Iza came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 31 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roman Iza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Rio Gallegos Unidos's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Iza came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roman Iza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Rio Gallegos Unidos's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Roman Iza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roman Iza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Rio Gallegos Unidos getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ubaldo Gilen hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roman Iza. Roman Iza yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Roman Iza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Rio Gallegos Unidos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montenegro to a score. 0-5 in the 62nd minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Roman Iza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rio Gallegos Unidos's Roman Iza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Gallegos Unidos from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Roman Iza 88 minutes into the match. Luis Andino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roman Iza came out and tried to block the shot, but Luis Andino slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 91st minute. Ecuador played a much better game than Rio Gallegos Unidos and deserved their victory. The Rio Gallegos Unidos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
