After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Feliciano Lope stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Feliciano Lope tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 65th minute. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eduard Averin in the 69 minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basilio Eliazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Delmar Jakes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Yo Soy Tu Padre getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Eduard Averin hit a great ball. If Basilio Eliazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Delmar Jakes made a huge save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
