Boroondara Milan's Bath Boyce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Villa in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paco Everett hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When Drake Sobczak fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boroondara Milan's protests and gave Drake Sobczak a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Honduras booed when Boroondara Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drake Sobczak didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Boroondara Milan's Kris Pearse got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 47th match minute, Boroondara Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Drake Sobczak to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. A collision led to Boroondara Milan getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Jason Sperling kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. Moises Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Bath Boyce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rolando Luckham, made in the 86th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Honduras's Sebastian Villa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bath Boyce. That made the score 2-2 after 89 minutes of play. After 92 minutes, Edmundo Espiga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Honduras and the Boroondara Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Edmundo Espiga hit a great ball.
