Tony Githinji Muhoho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Urtungo, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Urpo Kanerva kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Rogelio Urtungo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 12 played minutes Rothwell Park got a freekick which was hit by John Kipketer. 13 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's Rogelio Urtungo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Githinji Muhoho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Dedé Correia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tony Githinji Muhoho, passed just outside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rogelio Urtungo got free with Tony Githinji Muhoho in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Dedé Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garopaba F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedé Correia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Githinji Muhoho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Rogelio Urtungo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garopaba F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogelio Urtungo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Githinji Muhoho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41st minute, Jorge Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlando da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Salvino in the 43rd minute of the match. After 46 played minutes Garopaba F.C got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Pontes. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rogelio Urtungo to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Rogelio Urtungo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Tony Githinji Muhoho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute, Rogelio Urtungo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Teófilo Vilanova fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rothwell Park's protests and gave Teófilo Vilanova a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Rothwell Park got a freekick which was hit by Teófilo Vilanova. After some careless play in the Rothwell Park defense, Rogelio Urtungo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho. The Rothwell Park fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Githinji Muhoho should have stopped the shot. A throw-in in the 78th minute of the game was made by Rogelio Urtungo with Dedé Correia as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the game, Adolfo Salvino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Orlando da Cunha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tony Githinji Muhoho came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Garopaba F.C's Rogelio Urtungo. But to his dismay, Rogelio Urtungo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 90th minute Rogelio Urtungo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Garopaba F.C fully deserved thier win.
