Denílson Sena made in the 6th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Maurício Motta immediately put the ball in play. When Garopaba F.C's Rogelio Urtungo in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paulopolis's goalie prevented a goal. Dieguinho Amaral who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Orlando da Cunha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Rogelio Urtungo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cayetano Rito. Paulopolis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Urtungo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Rogelio Urtungo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cayetano Rito was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Cayetano Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Urtungo in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dieguinho Amaral got free with Orlando da Cunha in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cayetano Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Urtungo in the 36th minute of the match. Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieguinho Amaral in the 38th minute of play. Cayetano Rito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Urtungo, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute Rogelio Urtungo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Rito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes Paulopolis's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wambasther Özil who took care of the corner kick. Garopaba F.C's Wambasther Özil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cayetano Rito in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 46 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's goalkeeper Orlando da Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dieguinho Amaral. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rogelio Urtungo to strike the kick off in the second half. Cayetano Rito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the game, Tomás Gajardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garopaba F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulopolis the free kick. Rogelio Urtungo came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cayetano Rito could save by the left post. In the 60th minute of the match, Rogelio Urtungo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cayetano Rito was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rogelio Urtungo might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cayetano Rito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rogelio Urtungo ran back to his position shaking his head. When Ruy Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paulopolis's protests and gave Ruy Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Paulopolis getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ruy Carneiro hit a great ball. Cayetano Rito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Correia in the 73rd minute of play. Orlando da Cunha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dieguinho Amaral went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Rogelio Urtungo took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cayetano Rito. Cayetano Rito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 88th minute of the match, Rogelio Urtungo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cayetano Rito was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 90 minutes Paulopolis's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wambasther Özil who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Paulopolis's goalie and right to Tomás Gajardo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Paulopolis's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Rogelio Urtungos short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Cayetano Rito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cayetano Rito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Correia in the 99th minute of play. When the match was over Garopaba F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Paulopolis throughout the match.
