Walter Mutuku's late challenge caught a Djurgården Sthlm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walter Mutuku helped the player get up and apologised. 6 minutes into the game, Djurgården Sthlm's Kaloyan Dimovski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony Githinji Muhoho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Tony Githinji Muhoho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaloyan Dimovski, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 14 played minutes Rothwell Park got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Kiprugut. 15 minutes into the match, Viktor Orbán notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho. Tony Githinji Muhoho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kaya Österberg took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Githinji Muhoho. Tony Githinji Muhoho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 21st minute, Kaloyan Dimovski made a precise shot to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho. Rothwell Park's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Djurgården Sthlm's Cyprian Dytrych got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Githinji Muhoho came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Djurgården Sthlm's Kaya Österberg. But to his dismay, Kaya Österberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Orbán in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes Rothwell Park's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joakim Häll who took care of the corner kick. After 36 played minutes Djurgården Sthlm got a freekick which was hit by David Nord. 42 minutes into the match, Kaloyan Dimovski notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho. Tony Githinji Muhoho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 45 minutes of play, Djurgården Sthlm's Viktor Orbán made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tony Githinji Muhoho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walter Mutuku stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Kaya Österberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gösta Moberg made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Rothwell Park's John Kipketer. Tony Githinji Muhoho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaloyan Dimovski in the 62nd minute. Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Orbán in the 64th minute of play. After 67 minutes Rothwell Park's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joakim Häll who took care of the corner kick. Celil Çağakan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Mohamed, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Joakim Häll made a great header on Djurgården Sthlm's corner, it was just that Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 76th minute William Mohamed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celil Çağakan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaloyan Dimovski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Tony Githinji Muhoho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Rothwell Park defense, Viktor Orbán kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho. The Rothwell Park fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Githinji Muhoho should have stopped the shot. Djurgården Sthlm made a substitution. Timothy Utter replaced Leon Topolski. Djurgården Sthlm's Denis Stoicea was substituted for Kaya Österberg. 86 minutes into the match, Djurgården Sthlm's goal looked a bit too open when William Mohamed came free, but Celil Çağakan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rothwell Park's zone, Viktor Orbán stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Githinji Muhoho came out of the goal and Viktor Orbán tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rothwell Park's Tony Githinji Muhoho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Rothwell Park from getting a goal against them. Djurgården Sthlm's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
