Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Yiğitcan İstanbullu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yiğitcan İstanbullu having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yiğitcan İstanbullu. Yiğitcan İstanbullu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Joel Gaona was extremely unlucky when he, in the 95th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
