Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ronnie Hellström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12th play minutes Chen Ao Fan shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 18th minute Kevin Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. Chen Ao Fan in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronnie Hellström having to make a save. 38 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ronnie Hellström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Keegan in the 41st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chen Ao Fan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chen Ao Fan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronnie Hellström made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. When Chen Ao Fan came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Skövde AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chen Ao Fan couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Ronnie Hellström skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jerry Williams struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde AIK. Knut Rudberg hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ronnie Hellström could save by the left post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Skövde AIK's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Hellström came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho had several of the Skövde AIK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 92 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Ronnie Hellström as he didn't even see the shot coming. The Skövde AIK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
