Werneck FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. When Werneck FC - DMZ's Fernando Vinhas in 35 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Julio Vera guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Loyola having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Vinhas came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Werneck FC - DMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 64 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafael Loyola. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Rafael Loyola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Werneck FC - DMZ's Rafael Loyola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Werneck FC - DMZ from getting a goal against them. Zé Paulo Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Loyola saved Werneck FC - DMZ from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Rafael Loyola in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Loyola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador played a much better game than Werneck FC - DMZ and deserved their victory. The Werneck FC - DMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
