Gerardo Beards short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Brooklyn SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stacy McDonough didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute Gerardo Beard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jospeh McNally having to interfere. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jospeh McNally. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Jospeh McNally showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 74 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jospeh McNally was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brooklyn SC made a substitution. Walter Spivey replaced Gerardo Beard. Brooklyn SC's Jospeh McNally proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Brooklyn SC from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Cole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Augustin came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Brooklyn SC.
