Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Moises Fernandino started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Abram Luque had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stelian Apostol. Cobos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abram Luque was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Cobos fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Cobos's Lino Guerrero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Valentino Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Lino Guerrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Leonel Chesus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Eustacio Turi sent off a good shot on target. Stelian Apostol didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Stelian Apostol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lino Guerrero in the 33rd minute. Lino Guerrero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, Hugo Dodorol threw the ball into play from the sideline. El Salvador's Marco Tamayo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Lino Guerrero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lino Guerrero made a kick off. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Chesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Magrina's late challenge caught a Cobos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Magrina helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cobos booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Magrina didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Chesus came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cobos's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stelian Apostol came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Fernandino in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stelian Apostol saved Cobos from getting behind. Cobos's Lino Guerrero got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the game, Cobos's Leonel Chesus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lino Guerrero in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. Patrick Lidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Guerrero in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Cobos's Patrick Lidman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Stelian Apostol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Lino Guerrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cobos fully deserved thier win.
