In the 10th match minute, Saint Etienne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphaël Favre to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernhard Krier in the 12th minute of play forced Almus's goalkeeper Fazıl Çakıroğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Bernhard Krier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fazıl Çakıroğlu. Almus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernhard Krier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Saint Etienne's goalkeeper Gregory Hildmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Saint Etienne's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Nejat Tapgaç came free, but Gregory Hildmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eyüp Yöntem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Gregory Hildmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Saint Etienne getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Klaus Hirsch hit a great ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Bernhard Krier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saint Etienne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernhard Krier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernhard Krier struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Fazıl Çakıroğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saint Etienne. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eyüp Yöntem to make the kick off. Fazıl Çakıroğlu came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Saint Etienne's Bernhard Krier. But to his dismay, Bernhard Krier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernhard Krier in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fazıl Çakıroğlu saved Almus from getting behind. Ralf Behm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gregory Hildmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avni Kabadayı in the 85th minute of play. Fazıl Çakıroğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernhard Krier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Almus's Fazıl Çakıroğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernhard Krier in the 89th minute of play. Deniz Zübeyr hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
