Union Madereros's Albino Maldonado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Albino Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Salvatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Nemesio Sazon struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Aquiles Oihenarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Dep. Union Madereros. Donato Nalo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Aquiles Oihenarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nemesio Sazon's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Club Atlético Atlanta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabian Guter in the 25th minute. Albino Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Salvatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nemesio Sazon in the 37th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Aquiles Oihenarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Donato Nalo got a free kick in the 40th minute. Nemesio Sazon took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aquiles Oihenarte. Aquiles Oihenarte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Arnulfo Barea made in the 63rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lino Rafe. When Maximiliano Misael came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Club Dep. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Club Dep. Union Madereros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Luzea in the 72nd minute of play forced Club Dep. Union Madereros's goalkeeper Albino Maldonado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bernabe Suarez fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Dep. Union Madereros's protests and gave Bernabe Suarez a yellow card for diving instead. Bernabe Suarez kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After 88 played minutes Club Dep. Union Madereros got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Barea. In the 95th minute Nemesio Sazon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquiles Oihenarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 minutes of play Club Atlético Atlanta's Donato Nalo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Club Dep. Union Madereros booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Nalo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Dep. Union Madereros's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
